An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the  team at Newbury. Our clinet provides expert advice, services and support to growers wishing to use Precision Farming techniques to improve the economic, agronomic and environmental performance of their farm business.

The mapping team process GPS, UAV and yield data to create management maps for growers. These maps enable growers to make informed management decisions on their cropping choices and product application. Data is processed using in-house software alongside QGIS, MS Office and other mapping packages. A Technical Assistant will posses exceptional attention to detail alongside outstanding customer service, to deliver our product to both internal and external customers.

An interest in or passion for agriculture and farming would be a distinct advantage. Full technical training can be provided for the right candidate.


Role/Responsibilities:

Data Processing:


• Process GPS data using in-house software, third party software and MS Office packages
• Accurate database entry and quality control of survey data
• Collate soil nutrient reports for customers
• Resolve data file issues

Administration:

• Quality control of outgoing information to customers and accounts department
• Identify and communicate requirements and issues to the Team Leader
• Assisting the team leader in any other task
• Provide data, reports and information to agreed deadlines

Communication:

• Liaise with customers, area managers and field operatives where necessary via phone and/or email
• Monitor and resolve customer and sales team queries in a timely manner
• Deliver excellent customer service

Position Requirements

Requirements:

• Experience of processing data in a busy office environment
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to work to a high standard in a sometimes high pressure environment
• Strong customer focus
• Proven attention to detail
• Possess a confident and professional telephone manner
• Ability to communicate at every level
• Ability to manage workload and use initiative to prioritise tasks effectively
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative, making decisions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customers

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Ø Knowledge of mapping systems and software preferable
Ø Knowledge of UK arable farming desirable
